Fortune Tellers. The sculpture uses forecasts for the Shanghai Stock Exchange, provided by data analysts through future predictive algorithms and by the calculations of a financial astrologer.
The predictions made try and forecast the value of the Exchange’s Index, days before the exhibition goes live and cover for each day of the show.

The forecasts are then used to generate a data driven score and direct an unfinished choir and chattering of three Chinese soprano singers. When the public enters in close contact with the interactive surfaces, the sculpture starts singing through speakers positioned within the space. The melodies are mainly irregular and accidental, in so evoking fleeting feelings of delicate and poetic impermanence in the audience.

The tridimensional and sculptural structure that sustains the flags is derived from a graph representing
the last ten financial years of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
